Congrats to Sisters Linda Buck, CSJ and Jenny Zimmerman, SND, our latest winners of the Leadership Initiatives Scholarship!
This Summer, Giving Voice inaugurated two new peer-led committees, the Communications Working Group and the Leadership Initiatives Scholarship Committee. Involving nearly a dozen sisters in a circle-process-led collaboration, each committee seeks to expand the reach of Giving Voice through communications initiatives and mission-driven ministry.

Deep in the wilderness I sit.
I hear you in the wind,
in the animals calling out to one another.
I feel you everywhere.
I am free.
It has been a slow spring: our last large snowfall here in Racine Wisconsin occurring on April 16. Now that spring has sprung, it is a time of renewed activity amongst all living creatures: from the birds to the squirrels to the bees. So too amongst the plants and trees: from the flowers springing up, tulips and daffodils and grape hyacinths, to the sprouting of seeds and the bursting buds on trees.
“Where we’re going we don’t need roads: Pioneering Women, Carrying our Charisms into the Future”, the peer-led retreat for women religious between ages 40-49 featured prayer sessions, meditations and discussions, beginning Friday night reflecting on the question: “What are our communities’ charisms? How do our communities’ charisms intersect and work on a global scale?”

"Learning Spanish has been something I have wanted to do for a long time. Being able to communicate with sisters in Spanish would be very helpful in both my Mercy community as well as the Giving Voice community.”

Rather guiding many.
Giving Voice is very excited to announce a new scholarship for Catholic Sisters! The Leadership Initiatives Scholarship is meant to strengthen the mission of Giving Voice through our participants in three areas: Leadership Skills Development, Relationship and Bridge-Building, and Language Skills.
On the weekend of April 12-15, I attended a Formation Convocation in Chicago with my community, the Felician sisters. I joined 51 of our sisters: those in leadership, in varying stages of formation, and those in formation. What I expected to be a meeting turned out to be a community retreat where we reflected on formation that is centered in a relationship with God.
