Sisters are “all ears” as they gather with friends and staff for corn shucking

The first day of 2021 corn shucking, cutting and blanching occurred on July 20 in the Motherhouse small dining room, as Ursuline Sisters, staff and friends joined together to tackle 1,000 ears harvested from the Mount farm. The following day was expected to be even heavier, said Melody Payne, manager of Food Services. “Last year we did 3,800 ears.” Here are some photos from the day.
