Save the Date: Dec 6 online (Zoom) workshop: 4:00-6:00 PM

Back in 2014 or 2015 (I can’t remember!) we SDS hosted a “Towards Right Relationship with Native People” workshop at the Community House. Several of us attended, and there were also folks from a variety of churches and schools and other groups who came.

This workshop is now available online via Zoom! I and other trained facilitators of the in-person workshop helped develop it so it works well online.. I’ve gone through it via Zoom and know it’s well worth the time (a couple of hours).

In addition, the registration fee is on a sliding fee scale, from $20 to $50, so we can pay as we can.

The next Zoom workshop will be on December 6, 2020, 3-5 pm Mountain; 4-6 pm Central, etc.

With our nation’s and our personal growing awareness of institutional racism, and our own SDS commitment to gospel justice issues such as immigration, trafficking, and more, this upcoming Dec. 6 training is well worth attending.

(If you’re thinking you might also wish to be trained to implement this workshop yourself, as a virtual presenter, there’s a Dec. 10 training you can attend after going to the Dec. 6 experience. For more info on the training of trainers piece, contact Paula Palmer at the address below. She is the one who came to Milwaukee to lead the in-person workshop for us.)

You don’t need to be a trainer- you can simply attend as a participant on Dec. 6, and you will come away with a new, deeper, and more prayerful understanding of the history and realities of Native Peoples of our continent. This is directly relevant to our Province’s commitment to the Kateri Initiative

I hope you will consider it! What a great way to support ecumenical efforts at justice towards all.
