During this Easter season that began with Jesus' resurrection, I am struck by the readings from the Acts of the Apostles. It is wonderful to listen to how the newly founded Christian community began its continuously evolving journey. The story I am drawn to is the Emmaus story, a journey of awakening.
Soon, I will be leaving on a seven week mission trip to Pucallpa, Peru traveling with a group of students from the university where I work in campus ministry. Our journey together began last October, as we studied geography, politics, sociology, peace, culture, collaboration, community, team work, etc. As we prepared for our trip, we shared our hopes and expectations, our fears and joys, our dreams and our lives. Already we have had lots of fun while also spending time in reflection and prayer.
Survey for Giving Voice members: The Giving Voice Core Team has been approached by Ted Dunn, a clinical psychologist who has worked with many religious communities regarding the transformation of religious life, with a unique invitation for all of us. He has created a special survey specifically for Giving Voice Sisters in their 20s, 30s, and 40s to help amplify our voice and strengthen our influence in the important conversations taking place about the future and transformation of religious life.
