Migrant Action Alert
On this International Human Rights Day, Giving Voice joins the Sister Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as they spearhead a Christmas Postcard Campaign in support of migrants during an interfaith National Week of Action for Migrant Justice.
The week of prayer and action calls for:
- An end to detention and deportation of immigrants,
- Respect for the human right to migrate, and,
- An end to the militarization at the border.
"I felt compelled to make an art piece comparing the journey of migrants today with the biblical story of the Flight into Egypt" – Sister Lisa Perkowski, IHM
Giving Voice participant Sister Lisa Perkowski, IHM, designed a beautiful postcard in support of migrants, which can be mailed to the President, Vice President and other elected officials. Congregations are asked to cover postcard printing costs and to make a donation to the Annunciation House in El Paso, where sisters work directly with migrants.

Special Opportunity for Giving Voice participants!
Giving Voice is offering a special opportunity for participants to take action this week. The Core Team invites sisters to organize a postcard-signing event with sisters from multiple congregations, and will reimburse the cost of printing postcards up to $100. For more information, please contact our Communications Coordinator at sophie@giving-voice.org.
We are so grateful Sister Lisa answered the invitation from LCWR to stand in solidarity with migrants, to create this beautiful postcard, and invite others to join in prayer and action!
