Voting Rights in Indian Country

South Dakota has been infamous for denying Native voters their right to vote. Click HERE to learn about a recent settlement that should really help make voting rights an actual reality. It's so sad that this type of lawsuit is necessary to get a state to do the right thing. It's also sad that this isn't an isolated case- other Native nations in other states face similar challenges and denial of rights....

This is a good example of "systemic racism." The system of voter registration and voting has consistently failed to ensure equal rights and it took a lawsuit to finally get /force a change.
