August Core Team Meeting

From August 23-24, 2024, the GV Core Team spent time together in St. Louis. The Core Team meets monthly via Zoom for two hours and then takes time once a year to be in person to plan and set a path for the year to come. 

Time spent together was fruitful and Spirit-led. Days began with prayer, which included welcoming Audra Turnbull, IHM, to the group formally for the first time with blessings and hopes for her time on the Core Team. The Core Team spent time reviewing our history, context, and GV philosophy. This was helpful knowing that we’re anticipating transition of new membership during the coming months. Time was spent recapping all the amazing things that have happened in the GV world in the last year which could not have happened without many members saying yes. Planning for the year ahead was filled with hope and energy. If you said yes at the National Gathering in June, thank you, we already have your name and will be in contact with you. Please continue to reach out to any member of the Core Team if you want to be part of planning and organizing the retreats, gatherings, or other events happening during the year. More help is always welcome!

One of the highlights of the time spent together was getting together with other GV members in the St. Louis area. On Saturday evening, the Core Team planned to appreciate the local business of Ted Drewes frozen custard and invited all GV members of the area to join in. There were a total of 17 of us that gathered, ate, and shared, even though it was rather warm and humid. We sat around and shared for nearly two hours! Great time was had by all. We even enlarged our circle to add Dominican and Jesuit men for a bit.

The Core Team appreciates all the prayers, support, and willingness to be part of the planning of all the amazing ways we find to get together during the year. Keeping dreaming and let us know how we can support new ways to gather and be together to help us all live our vocation fully.
